Broadband Wireless Options

Broadband wireless can be more affordable and resilient then any other option, including cellular, landline or cable. Hayden Island provides a potentially large market for broadband because many residents are live-aboard boaters or full-time RVers.

Currently, landline-based Comcast and Century Link take weeks to provide service, while cellular broadband is too limited and too expensive.

Satellite and Citizen’s Band Radio Service (CBRS) provide an alternative.

Satellite internet works when cellular is down. CBRS in a mobile hotspot (above) uses the (no cost) shared 3.5 GHz band. Together they can provide resilient and cost/effective neighborhood broadband.
